COMPETITION RULES


RX France is a French company organised in the legal form of a société par actions simplifiée (simplified joint stock company) with a share capital of 90,000,000 €, having its registered office at 52 Quai de Dion Bouton 92800 Puteaux, France and is registered with the Nanterre Commerce and Companies Registry under the number 410 219 364. RX France is the official organiser of MIPIM 2024 tradeshow (hereafter “MIPIM”), taking place from 12 to 15 March, 2024 in Cannes, and of the related MIPIM Awards 2024 held in Cannes and/or online during MIPIM (hereafter "The MIPIM Awards").

The competition rules of the MIPIM Awards (hereafter “Rules”) are detailed hereafter.


Item 1: Competition categories and eligibility requirements

Projects completed in 2022-2023* by MIPIM registered companies (hereafter the “Entrants”) can enter the competition under one of the following categories:

  • Best new development (total surface area <150,000 sqm)
  • Best new mega development (total surface area ≥ 150,000 sqm)
  • Best conversion project
  • Best cultural, sports and education project
  • Best hospitality, tourism and leisure project
  • Best industrial & logistics project
  • Best mixed-use project
  • Best office & business project
  • Best residential project
  • Best urban regeneration project

*Except for Best new development and Best new mega development (construction starting in 2022-2024) and Best urban regeneration project (Project or one phase completed in 2023)

Item 2: Number of projects allowed

There is no limit on the number of submissions per company, and one entry can be sent in several categories as long as it meets all the eligibility requirements stipulated in the present rules and separate submissions are prepared.

Item 3: Pre-entry form

Entrants must be registered to MIPIM.

Companies wishing to enter the competition must complete and submit one online pre-entry form per project, on the MIPIM Awards web page (www.mipimawards.com). RX France will verify each project’s eligibility and send a confirmation email.

If the project is managed by several companies, the company submitting the project guarantees that :

1. It is the sole initiator together with possible co-authors and warrants;

2. It holds all the rights for the presented projects and information related to the project;

3. It does not harm any potentially involved third party’s rights or anyone’s private life or likeness;

4. The project / idea does not infringe any law, especially copyright laws.

In case several companies submit the same project, they must reach an agreement to designate one company only to represent them. If not, RX France reserves the right to keep the first received entry and reject the other ones. RX France  will not be held liable in case of any conflicts between the companies.

Pre-entry forms must be completed in English and submitted online by 6 December, 2023.

Item 4: Final Entry form

If the submitted pre-entry meets the eligibility requirements for the next step of the competition, RX France will ask the entrants to complete and submit the final entry form and all required materials online by 20 December, 2023 on the MIPIM Awards website (www.mipimawards.com).

Entry forms must be filled out in English .

Entrants expressly authorise RX France to use the information, related to the project, completed in the final entry form as well as the supporting materials, for communication purposes if needed.

Item 5: Entry fees

Once Entrants are judged eligible in accordance with Item 4,they must pay an entry fee of €1045 (+VAT 20%) for each project submitted.

Entrants will receive the contract by e-mail. It will also be available online in the final entry form.

The entry fee contract must be signed and returned by 20 December, 2023. If the contract is not completed, signed and returned by the deadline, the entrant will not be authorised to participate in the MIPIM Awards competition and the entry will not be reviewed by the jury.

Entry fees are not refundable, regardless of the results of the jury’s selection, the evolution of the Covid-19 situation or any other force majeure (described in Item 12 of the present rules) as the Awards ceremony will be held in any case, physically or virtually.

Item 6: The jury and the Jury meeting

All completed entries received by 20 December, 2023 will be submitted to the MIPIM Awards Jury, an independent body of real estate professionals selected by RX France.

The jury will meet in January 2024 to review all the entries and shortlist several finalists in each of the 10 categories mentioned in Item 1.

The jury can, in total independence, base its selection upon various and unlimited criteria such as:

  • Originality of the concept
  • Architectural qualities
  • Environmental qualities
  • Integration of the project in its environment and community
  • Quality of the user experience
  • Economic contribution.

The jury is also entitled to move any entry to a more appropriate category and consequently judge the entry in that category. The entrant will be informed by email of this change.

The jury reserves the right not to examine incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with the present rules.

The jury may decide to remove a category if they consider that the submitted entries do not ensure a sufficient level of quality.

The jury’s decision is final and will not have to be justified.

Item 7: Finalists and visual elements

Entrants will be informed of the results by email, shortly after the jury meeting.

Finalists will be asked to provide additional visuals that will be displayed during the MIPIM Awards ceremony. RX France reserves the right to choose which elements will be displayed and modify these elements if needed to guarantee the quality of the event.

Finalists accept that all project information, including photographs, videos and other materials provided, may be forwarded to third parties for the purposes of conducting the vote, organising the ceremony and promoting the MIPIM Awards.

Finalists also certify and guarantee that they have been authorised to this end by potential co creators or third parties.

Finalists shall hold RX France harmless from and against any risk of claims or actions by third parties, both during and after the performance of the Competition on the grounds of an infringement of their rights, in particular as regards the intellectual property rights in the elements supplied by the Finalists under the terms of these Rules. To this end, the Finalists hereby agree to hold RX France harmless from and against any claim, of any kind whatsoever, issued by one of its employees, workers or third parties.

In the event that proceedings are issued against RX France, all duties, costs, fees and damages that it may be ordered to pay shall be borne by the Finalists only.

Finalists commit to provide RX France with the name of the photographer (photo credit).

Finalists warrant that they informed and obtained authorisations from their organisations for the process described below.

Finalists and Entrants authorise RX France to: 

- photograph and make video or audio recordings of the MIPIM Awards (hereinafter referred to as the "Recording") ;

- broadcast, live or deferred, the Recording of the MIPIM Awards on tangible or intangible media platforms, including media networks and the Internet (Facebook or YouTube).

- adapt the Recording to be included within a compilation of other contents of MIPIM – notably for Continuing Professional Development purposes - and represent, reproduce, distribute and market the said compilation


For a period of five (5) years, for any informational, promotional, marketing and/or commercial purposes, Finalists and Entrants authorise RX France to :

- communicate the Recording on all tangible or intangible media known or unknown at this time, notably digital media and internet (in particular, the websites tradeshows and its partners and related promotional social media as YouTube branded channel, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or other), and on any other promotional or marketing tool it may use, being specified that RX France will not be held liable for uses of whatever nature that may be made by web surfers of the Recording appearing on these websites

Item 8: Competition prizes

In addition to the awards given to the category winners (one trophy per category winner), a Special Jury Award can be granted to the jury’s favourite project among all.

Item 9: Voting process and results

Before and during MIPIM, the finalists will be submitted to a vote by MIPIM registered delegates who will vote for their favourite project in each of the 10 categories.

Online vote

A few weeks before MIPIM, registered delegates will receive an invitation email to vote with their personal access code. Each delegate has one vote. If a delegate votes several times, only the last vote will count.

The online vote will be open until 14 March, 2024 (noon).

On-site vote

At MIPIM, the finalists will be showcased in the MIPIM Awards Gallery located in the heart of the exhibition area. Delegates will be able to vote. If a delegate has already voted online or votes several times on site, only the last vote will count.

The on-site vote will be open from 12 March, 2024 (9.00) to 14 March, 2024 (noon) in the exhibition area.

Final results

The online and on-site vote will represent 40% of the final results and the jury's vote, the remaining 60%.

The final results will determine the 10 winners.

The final results will be finalised and checked under the supervision of the bailiff of the SCP LAMBERT, VAN DE KERCKHOVE, BERGER ET SACCONE - 15, Public garden Mérimée (06400) CANNES- FRANCE.

In the event of a tie between two or more projects, the president of the jury will make a decision in the presence of a RX France representative.

If the sanitary situation due to Covid-19 or any other force majeure (described in Item 12 of the present rules) does not allow organising MIPIM physically in Cannes, then the on-site vote shall be cancelled and the online vote be extended. 

Item 10: the MIPIM Awards ceremony

The winners will be announced at the MIPIM Awards ceremony, which will take place on 14 March, 2024 during MIPIM at the Palais des Festivals, Cannes.

If MIPIM is not physically held in Cannes, the MIPIM Awards ceremony shall be held online or postponed. In the first case, it will be entirely live streamed on the MIPIM web site.

The awards ceremony will be photographed and recorded for the purposes of promoting the MIPIM Awards, the winners, the finalists and their project(s). Winners and finalists authorise RX France and their representatives to (i) photograph and video and audio record the awards ceremony directly or indirectly, including their likenesses and voices, together with any elements related to their projects as mentioned under Items 4 and 7 above and to (ii) use the said photographs, projects contents and videos for the purpose of promoting RX France activities for 5 (five) years worldwide. Winners and finalists also certify and guarantee that they have been authorised to this end by their official representatives and any potential co-creators and third parties. 

Item 11: MIPIM Awards ceremony attendance

Finalists do not receive a free entry pass to MIPIM.

If MIPIM is held physically, each finalist must be registered to MIPIM and send at least one official project representative to the MIPIM Awards ceremony to collect their award on stage shall they win.

If MIPIM is held virtually, each finalist must have at least one official project representative attending the ceremony online.

In both cases, all winners will be asked to make a short thank you speech.

Item 12: Force Majeure

In the event of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances resulting in the impossibility of organising MIPIM, the MIPIM Awards ceremony will remain and be postponed or held virtually.

"Force Majeure" means any health, climate, economic, political or social situation at the local, national or international level: (i) which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of entering into the participation contract, (ii) which is beyond the control of the parties, and (iii) which precludes the performance of the parties' obligations, and, in particular, the holding of the event, or which poses a risk of disturbances likely to seriously affect the organisation and the smooth running of the event or the safety of persons and property. 

Item 13: Privacy

The terms of the RX Data Processing Addendum at https://legal.rxglobal.com apply to the “processing” of “personal data” (as those terms are defined therein) that either Party receives from the other under the present rules.

The personal data provided by the Entrant to the Organiser is necessary for the performance, administration, management, and monitoring of the Entrant’s participation. The persons mentioned in the pre-Entry form and subsequent exchanges may be contacted by the Organiser, the venue manager, and their subcontractors (“Permitted Contacts”) to facilitate the Entrant’s participation in the event and the marketing of all products and services relating thereto. The Entrant acknowledges that the Organiser processes personal data subject to the RX Privacy Policy at https://privacy.rxglobal.com . The Entrant and its representatives may be contacted by the Permitted Contacts for the purposes of facilitating the participation of the Entrant in connection with the Competition, which may also include entry of the Entrant on the Competition website and/or Platform, and in any associated directory, arranging introductions to or appointments with certain contacts, and appropriate marketing of related services and products.

Item 14: Official Rules

These official rules have been lodged with SCP LAMBERT, VAN DE KERCKHOVE, BERGER ET SACCONE, bailiff to the court: 15 Square Mérimée – BP 193- 06400 Cannes- FRANCE. Any interested party may obtain a copy of these rules on written request to: RX France.

Item 15: Claims

Registering and competing for the MIPIM Awards implies full acceptance of the present Rules. The Rules and the MIPIM Awards are governed by French law. If no amicable settlement can be reached, any dispute arising in connection with the construction and/or performance of the Rules as well as said Awards shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Commercial Court of Paris, should no prior agreement be reached with RX France and SCP LAMBERT, VAN DE KERCKHOVE, BERGER ET SACCONE , 15 Square Mérimée – BP 193 – 06400 Cannes - FRANCE, depositary of these Rules and guarantor of the regularity of the draw.
